Having a career mentor allows you to gain insight, knowledge and expertise from someone who has quite literally 'been there, done that.' Whether it is building up relevant experience on your CV, exploring different types of roles, having the confidence to start your own project or even knowing how to negotiate a salary, the guidance provided by a mentor can truly be invaluable.
As part of the Progressive Careers Mentoring Programmementees receive: 1-to-1 advice, support and guidance from a young professional already in a social impact career. The mentor programme consists of three stages: exploration, action plan and career plan. By the end of the 3 month programme the mentee should have a clearer idea of their career trajectory, as well as a list of actionable steps to help them get to where they want to be.
